We offer Aeration Grid Systems for mixing of effluent - raw or treated as an alternative to mixers/aerators. The aeration grid consists of a HDPE/PP header with laterals arranged so that is covers entire cross-section of tank. Holes are drilled at the bottom as shown in figure to enable air to bubble through. Alternatively, coarse bubble diffusers or sintered ceramic diffusers may also be used.

Aquachem offers diffused aeration systems for aeration. Both retrievable and non-retrievable models are possible. A diffused aeration system consists of diffusers submerged in aeration tank with air header pipe, laterals/flexible hose as required, and blowers. The diffuser is made up of a porous EPDM/Silicon membrane encased on a plastic body. The fine bubbles escape through the pores of the diffuser membrane. Various types of membrane diffusers are available like – tube-type, disc-type, plate-type etc.

Tube Settlers are Settling Tanks provided with tube media. These are often used in cases where enhanced settling is required. The flocculated effluent is forced to move upwards through the tube media. The solids strike against the media and lose velocity and start moving downwards as they are heavier thus enhancing the settling.

Aquachem offers Tertiary Treatment Systems for wastewater. Effluent after secondary treatment can be further treated in Multi-grade Filters or Pressure Sand Filters or Activated Carbon Filters for removal of suspended impurities if any, colour, residual chlorine etc. Certain wastewaters may also be treated with peroxide or hypo-chlorite for polishing treatment or disinfection.

Aquachem offers Reverse Osmosis Systems for final treatment of treated wastewater. As rules for disposal of treated effluent is becoming more and more stringent, one of the urgent needs is to treat the effluent to such an extent so that it can be recycled and then reused back in process itself. The RO System involves the use of thin-film composite membranes which allow passage of only water along with sodium and chloride ions, rejecting all other ions, molecules etc of size > 0.0001 µm. The RO system gives two streams – one is Permeate which is very pure and can be reused back in process; the other is Reject which has to be suitably disposed either by Multiple Effect Evaporator System (MEE) or Solar Pond Evaporation (SEP). The distillate from MEE is recycled back to ETP and the salts are sent to landfill. This ensures a completely “Zero-Discharge” system in terms of water.

The reject stream from the RO system has to be suitably disposed as it is high in heavy organics, dissolved solids etc. The MEE System can be operated wither on steam if available from the process or by using fuel such as LPG/methane etc. The distillate from MEE is recycled back to ETP and the bottoms i.e. salts are sent to landfill.
